Summary of The Great Gatsby

The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald, is the great American Novel. Set in the 1920s, The Great Gatsby depicts an era of rampant growth and the profligate lifestyle of the newly rich. The decadence is ultimately the unraveling and failure of the American Dream, which is cleverly intertwined in a love story by which Gatsby tries to reclaim Daisy, from an old wealthy family.
